REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND APPLICATION FEES (UPDATED ON 15 JANUARY 2013)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Visa application must be made in person by the applicant.
- All necessary documents must be presented during the visa interview.
Documents sent by e-mail, courrier or post are not accepted.
- If you are a first-time traveler to Turkey and if your application is
evaluated positively by the consular officers, your application will most
likely be forwarded to Turkish authorities for further examination. This
process takes at least 1 (one) month to be completed.
- Passports are returned back to applicants next working day at 2 pm.
- Application fee is collected in cash during the interview and is
NON-REFUNDABLE.

APPLICATION FEES

Nigerian nationals:
Single entry: 10.000 Naira
Multiple entry: 32.000 Naira
Single transit: 10.000 Naira
Double transit: 19.000 Naira
Non-Nigerian nationals:
Single entry: 60 dollars
Multiple entry: 200 dollars
Single transit: 60 dollars
Double transit: 120 dollars
For Non-Nigerian nationals, only those who hold
a still valid residence permit in Nigeria can apply for a Turkish visa at the
Embassy.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
TOURISTIC AND BUSINESS PURPOSES
1. At least 6 months valid passport, with enough blank pages for visa sticker
(to be seen and returned to the applicant until the approval of application)
2. Copies of the relevant pages of the passport (data and extension pages)
3. Duly filled visa application form
4. One (1) passport-size photograph
5. Invitation and guarantee letter certified by the notary public of Turkey
(for business visa application only). INVITATION LETTERS SENT BY E-MAIL ARE NOT
ACCEPTED
6. The original and a copy of “Certificate of Company Incorporation”. (for
business visa applications only)
7. The original and a copy of “Certificate of Income Tax Clearance”. (for
business visa applications only)
8. Original “personal” bank statement covering the last three months together
with the original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager.
9. Original company bank statement for the last three months together with
original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager. (Only if the
trip is sponsored by the company)
10. Evidence of employment (employment contract, letter from the employer,
payslips etc.). If the trip is sponsored by the company, the employer’s letter
must include that the trip is being sponsored by the company
11. Evidence of property ownership in home country
12. Hotel reservation (for touristic travels)
13. Round trip flight reservation (for all travel purposes)
14. A copy of marriage certificate (for
couples’ tourist visa application only)
15. Children under the age of 18 years need a
written permission signed by both parents at a public notary and approved by
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.
CONGRESS, FAIR, SEMINAR, TRAINING PROGRAMMES ETC.
(For events in Turkey or for transit visa applicatons)
1. At least 6 months valid passport, with enough space for visa sticker (to be
seen and returned to the applicant until the approval of application),
2. Copies of the relevant pages of the passport (data and extension pages),
3. Duly filled visa application form,
4. One (1) passport-size photograph,
5. Invitation letter sent by the organizing company/institution. The letter
must include date and place of the activity, contact information of the
company/institution as well as signature, title and name of the authoritiy,
6. Evidence of employment (employment contract,
letter from the employer, payslips etc.). If the trip is sponsored by the
company, the employer’s letter must include that the trip is being sponsored by
the company,
7. Payment slip for the registration fee,
8. Flight schedule,
9. The original and a copy of “Certificate of Company Incorporation",
10. The original and a copy of “Certificate of Income Tax Clearance”,
11. Original personal bank statement for the last three months together with
original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager,
12. Original company bank statement for the last three months together with
original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager (Only if the
trip is sponsored by the company),
13. For students under the age of 18 years, a written permission signed by both
parents at a public notary and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Nigeria is required.
STUDENT VISA APPLICATIONS
(including students traveling to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
students traveling for language training purposes, students wishing to study in
Turkey and other countries)
1. At least 6 months valid passport, with enough blank pages for visa sticker
(to be seen and returned to the applicant until the approval of application),
2. Copies of the relevant pages of the passport (data and extension pages),
3. Duly filled visa application form,
4. One (1) passport-size photograph,
5. Admission and Acceptance Letter by the
University,
6. Payment receipt of school fees,
7. Confirmation letter from the school acknowledging receipt of payment,
8. If the travel purpose is language training, the certification of language
course issued by the Turkish Ministry of Education,
9. Proof of basic education, copies of graduation diploma and certificates
(W.A.S.C., S.S.C.E., Statement of Result, etc.) duly signed and approved by the
Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministy of Foreign Affairs thereafter,
10. Proof of BA education, copy of university graduation diploma duly signed
and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs thereafter.(For master students),
11. Guarantee letter signed by the sponsor and
the student, stating that the sponsor will cover all the expenses of the
student, and that the student will never apply to any person or institution
(including university) for financial support or scholarship, certified by a
notary public,
12. A copy of “Certificate of Company Incorporation” of the sponsor,
13. A copy of certificate of income tax clearance of the sponsor,
14. Original “personal” bank statement for the last three months of the sponsor
together with original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager
NOTE: Students who will study in countries other than Turkey are granted with
one-month valid transit visas.
SEAMEN VISA APPLICATIONS
1. Duly filled "seamen visa application form" (to be filled by
the inviting agent in Turkey)
2. A guarantee letter signed by the Turkish agent and certified by the public
notary. The letter must guarantee that seamen will pass through Turkey and that
the Turkish agent will take responsibility for their passage.
3. Passports and copies of the relevant pages of the passports.
4. Seaman book of the applicants and copies of
the book.
